My research interests and publications fall into five streams:
1. Design, management, and modeling of social computing systems
(including online communities, social networking technologies, wikis,
blogs, and social knowledge management systems).
2. The implications of organizational power and politics for the use
and management of information systems.
3. The nature and impact of interorganizational systems.
4. The challenges associated with achieving reliable business
outcomes from complex, situated information systems. This includes
studies of information systems and mindfulness, principles of business
continuity planning, and the role of entrepreneurial thinking in IS
effectiveness.
5. Rhetorical approaches to the study of management and application
of information systems in organizations.
