Research Interests:

I have interest in the following two areas:

1.  Research related to human computer interaction. My research has mostly been on empirical studies of various database models, languages and interfaces. For example, I have studied how user performance is affected by conceptual levels of database models (such as entity relationship model, relational model and object-oriented model), ontological issues, and textual/visual languages and interfaces (such as SQL and KQL (a query language for the entity relationship model)). Other areas of interface work include empirical studies of spreadsheet visualization and image retrieval.

2.  Research on information systems acceptance. My research has considered the popular acceptance models such as technology acceptance model and theory of planned behavior. I have studied contexts such as virtual communities and e-commerce acceptance.

Preferred Methodologies:

I usually use quantitative surveys and experiments. I have some appreciation for qualitative methods such as protocol analysis and case study.
