Roadmap

Editorial Board Associate Editor:

Gabriele Piccoli

Universitá di Sassari

  Research Interests:

My work has traditionally focused on the impact of IT on learning processes and on virtual team effectiveness. Specifically I have studies the effectiveness of virtual learning environment and the effectiveness of virtual teams. My virtual team work has then evolved to encompass issues of trust formation and breach in these teams. More recently I have become very interested in the strategic application of information systems. Specifically, I have focused on sustainability of competitive advantage rooted in IT-dependent strategic initiatives and on the effective design and implementation of network based and IT-enabled customer service systems.

Preferred Methodologies:

My training was positivist and in my research I have used experimental designs as well as survey data. Parallel with the emergence of my recent research interest in strategic information systems I have relied more heavily on case study and the analysis of interview data.
