My research can be divided into several streams. The original and strongest stream focuses on the impacts of Information Technology on organizational power and communications. This was expanded to include power and trust in interorganizational relationships, especially EDI. Other interorganizational topics that I have researched include outsourcing, backsourcing, and supply chain management. My second stream is an extension of the first in that it focuses on a communication topic: information acquisition and sharing in decision making. My third stream deals with virtuality, especially virtual teams and virtual workers. My newest stream focuses on time issues (i.e., time visions of virtual team members).

Preferred Methodologies:

My training was positivist and I feel most at home with multivariate analysis methods. I primarily have employed field surveys in my research, though I have some studies that are lab experiments or case studies.
