Term: January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2013
Research Background and Interests:
I primarily conduct behavioral research at the individual and group level, which adapts theories from social psychology. I am also interested in conceptual (deductive) theory-building research into phenomena of interest and in creative research design issues. I have three main research interests (though I value others):
- Individual-level research in information systems security behaviors (compliance, noncompliance, PMT, etc.)
- Virtual teams and computer-mediated communication systems (CMCS)
- Electronic commerce and eGovernment studies, especially those that assess individual level decision making in the context of trust and other influences and processes
Methodological Interests:
I prefer to apply post-positivist empirical approaches that leverage analysis of rigorously measured quantitative and qualitative data to test models of IT’s impact on individual and group level behaviors. My primary methodological interests are:
- Experiments
- Traditional surveys of individuals
- Factorial survey method
